The Roanoke Raven is the Star City's self-appointed superhero — an EMT and firefighter who spends his off-hours picking up litter, handing out water in heat waves, and looking out for the neighbors everyone else walks past.

Behind the mask is a working EMT and firefighter who sees the Star City on its hardest days — and decided the days off should count for something too.
Seeing neighbors go hungry and unhoused "lit a fire" in him. So he put on a mask, picked up a trash bag, and got to work — because a little theater is a small price to get a whole city talking about the stuff nobody talks about.
The mask isn't the point. The point is that anyone can be the person who shows up.

Why a mask?
A guy in a hoodie picking up trash is invisible. A raven in a purple mask doing it? People stop. People film. People ask how they can help.
That's the whole trick: the costume is a spotlight, and the Raven points it at the problems — never at himself. He stays anonymous so the mission stays the star.
